Jalapeno chicken sausage with an Indian twist

Sometimes I have chicken cravings but don’t really have the time or I am all bored to buy fresh chicken and cook them. It takes a lot of time especially the cleaning and cooking. I came across this chicken sausage packs in the frozen aisle during my grocery shopping and I thought of giving it a try and then there was the birth of a new recipe in my kitchen!!! (Gosh I am such a drama queen)!!! But seriously you all should try it out :)

So this is the picture of the chicken sausage that I bought, there are other varieties available as well.

Serves 4

All natural spicy jalapeno chicken sausage 1 pack of 4 sausages or any chicken sausage of your choice
4 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
3 cloves
3 peppercorns
1 bay leaf
1 big onion
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon garlic
1 tablespoon red chili powder (optional)
1 tablespoon coriander and cumin powder
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
2 medium size tomatoes

In a wok (kadhai), heat oil and add cumin seeds (let them crackle) and then add cloves, peppercorns and bay leaf sauté. Then add in the onions and fry till they caramelize and are golden brown in color. Add the ginger-garlic paste sauté for 3 min on a medium flame. Add chili powder, coriander powder, Italian seasoning and sauté for 2 minutes, then add in the tomatoes and cook till they are soft and can be mashed completely into the gravy with your spatula and start to separate oil. Then add thinly sliced chicken sausages into the wok and mix it well to coat the chicken with the gravy completely. Cover and cook for about 4 min. and viola the chicken is ready. Serve it with roti (Indian flat bread) or in-between the bread of your choice. Enjoy
